I have been part of the teaching profession since 1974 - thirty five years that I have thoroughly enjoyed.  During that time I have taught in a variety of schools ranging from small remote rural schools to large urban Intermediate schools.  I have been in a leadership position for twenty nine years,  and have been at Pekerau for nine years. 

I thoroughly enjoy working with a professional, dedicated, and motivated staff.  We have worked very hard together to make Pekerau School the best possible learning environment for our children.  I believe that we cater for the diverse needs of our children through the programmes that we offer.  We employ a number of part time teachers and teacher aides who work alongside the teachers in helping provide these programmes. We employ a full time teacher in our computer suite that runs ICT programmes for all children in the school. We also have a Te Reo programme taken by a fully qualified teacher and a Kapa Haka group who won a number of competitions last year. We also run extension programmes for the more able children.

Pekerau School has a vision.  'An effective school empowering learners.'  As a school we believe very strongly in this vision and we will continue to work hard to make sure this vision becomes a reality.  Thank you for visiting our website and if you would like to call in and see us you would be most welcome.
